Rich warmth - the natural response to our last editorial, full of blues and grays and cool neutrals. I look to clothing frequently as a source of comfort, power, and inspiration. I mean that in an intellectual way, but also in a very practical, literal sense. If I wake up in the morning feeling unsure of myself, nervous or anxious, I very consciously choose clothing that makes me feel more confident or secure. There is nothing quite like the embrace of a thick, protective turtleneck to make me feel at ease.
In recent weeks - especially as the holidays approach and the colors and scents of fall are everywhere - I have been reaching for pieces that are warm, luscious and cozy. This time of year is my absolute favorite, and I relish getting dressed in clothing that lets me fully enjoy the season. High necks, lots of texture, rusts, camels and merlots - I love it all.
