Fall is my season.  I know everyone says that, but it’s true.  It’s the time of year I feel the most like myself, the most comfortable, the most invigorated.  The smells and sounds, the crisp bite of cool air, the warmth of the holidays.  I have no shortage of inspiration for cold weather clothing; it’s easy to design for the time I’m the happiest.

This season, I was heavily influenced by my favorite iconic shapes of decades past.  High rise cigarette pants, full skirts, cropped turtlenecks, classic trousers.  These are the cuts and silhouettes that always reappear on those women that nobody forgets - the Audrey Hepburns, Marilyn Monroes, and Diane Keatons.  We played with structure as well, which is new for the line - I went heavy on the 90’s cropped cuts, with some mid-century references, and of course my ever-present nod to the futurism and wonderfully weird shapes of the 20’s and 30's.  Waist cinching matching separates let you create the look of jumpsuits and dresses without committing to either one, while comfortable knits bring softness.

We also worked with several new fabrics this season - out of which the stretch cotton denim may be my favorite.  It has incredible stretch and it doesn’t wrinkle, which makes it perfect for travel.  I envision you taking these pieces on whirlwind trips to France, getting you from your morning croissant to your elegant evening out with little effort.  The knits are extraordinary as well - the organic, tactile texture of the sweater knit reminds me so strongly of the 70’s and all of the strange sculptures that came out of those years.
However, while I love the story and romance of each piece, the main aim of this collection was to create a functional and completely wearable group of separates that can be layered and mixed into endless outfits that still look thoughtful and pulled together.  Capsule wardrobes have always fascinated me, and it’s been an intention of mine to design pieces that are versatile and complementary.  Like those creative thinkers from the early 20th century who were trying to create the single perfect garment, I’m always trying to streamline, simplify, and improve the experience of getting dressed.  I hope we got a little closer today.
