This is the dress I dream about every year in the middle of summer when the heat is a tangible force in the air. The low, free armholes, deep-v back, and wide trapeze panels hang away from the body the way you want everything to when your skin is damp and the sun is high. This piece embodies movement and represents breeze. The slightest movement will billow the fabric in a captivating, delicious swish. The Harlow is meant for days spent puttering around the garden or for nights spent strolling the city.
But guess what? When summer's over, it springs effortlessly into action for the fall—layer over a thin turtleneck for a jumper effect or under a chunky, a-line sweater to provide a bit of skirting (my favorite)!
It has a simple but striking sleeveless cut with low geometric armholes and billowing side panels. The deep V back lets in a satisfying breath of air. The flattering high scoop neck and smartly cut shoulders pair flawlessly with the dramatic trapeze shape. Wear totally alone for ultimate summer comfort, or layer over a wide-leg pant for a voluminous spring look.
100% Linen, Oeko-Tex certified. Medium weight, sturdy broadcloth that can be pressed to a neat, crisp finish or left wrinkled after washing for a perfectly lived-in look. Linen possesses natural strength and durability, and it's a super friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, and is hypoallergenic, comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent.
Linen is a natural fiber made from cellulose fiber inside the stalks of the flax plant. It is a complete product of nature, and can vary drastically in color and texture based on the growing conditions of the season. Variations in base color and texture are not uncommon.
Natural imperfections in weave are also to be expected and embraced--slubs, nubs, and occasional bits of organic matter are common in linen. If you are looking for the homogeny and perfection of a synthetic fiber or a finely woven cotton you will not find it in linen.
Wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry warm. Leave unpressed for a beautifully rumpled look or press on medium heat with steam to remove wrinkles.
Linen is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love.
