Midweight Felted Wool
100% Wool
A thick but light handwoven wool. Very warm and ultra-soft, this fabric has been washed and felted so that it’s thick, durable, very smooth and soft to the touch, and hand-washable right at home. Extremely warm and densely woven, but not too heavy to layer comfortably. You truly have to feel this fabric to believe it. Created for the ultimate balance of functionality and wearability - it’s warm and wind resistant, but not too bulky to feel elegant and sophisticated. This fabric is one of the most special parts about the Cold Weather Collection - the raw material is sourced domestically through Imperial Stock Ranch and the yarn is purchased from Imperial Yarn Company, folks we are are beyond honored to work with. We visited the owners, met the sheep, and saw firsthand the incredible work they're doing in sustainability. It’s then woven into this stunning, high quality fabric right here in Nashville by the TN Textile Mill.
Available in two of our favorite classic colors - a rich, tawny camel, and deep, dark, jet black.
Hand wash in cool water with a mild wool detergent. Submerge in cool water, gently squeeze and release fabric to fully wet. Let soak, remove from water, and press with a dry towel. Stretch garment out to original shape, leave flat to dry. Press with steam once dry. Every wool garment ships with a complimentary wool brick - use this to comb out any pilling that occurs over time and keep your garment looking tip-top.
Sensitive to wool? This is one of the softest wools we’ve ever found, and is by far the softest we’ve ever used for our garments. We’ve been wear-testing it ourselves, and have had several folks with severe wool sensitivity try it out directly against the skin and so far we’ve had nothing but positive feedback. We are confident in its comfort level, but if you’re unsure just email us at support@elizabethsuzann.com and we can send you a sample swatch to feel for yourself!
