  • Description

The warm weather version of our favorite, essential shift dress. In a crinkly, rich linen gauze, this piece has so much life and floatiness. The Georgia is one of the first styles I designed, and the pattern was drafted with universal fit in mind. The shoulder seam and sleeve without an armscye looks intentional on all shoulder breadths, the substantial cuff wings out and draws clean lines on any arm, and the just-above-the-knee length works for just about every body.

This is the dress version of our Georgia Tee, which was influenced by effortless caftans from the '60s and '70s but with less material and more practicality in mind. I also drew on neat, crisp blouses from the '40s when women started wearing separates to work. Architectural drama and movement paired with structure and simplicity - a dress that can go anywhere and do just about anything.

It hits just above the knee, and the hem dips a bit longer in the back. You can lounge, explore a city, or sprint after a toddler in this dress. Achieve total summertime ease when worn with bare legs and simple sandals, or go for more of a mood and layer over wide-leg pants. Serves as a dress, tunic, or coverup - it's up to you.

*Pepper is temporarily out of stock and will return around mid June.

  • Material & Care

    Fabric: Linen Gauze

    Fiber Content: 100% Linen

Description: A gorgeous lightweight linen gauze that has wonderful texture. The crinkled finish gives the fabric inherent stretch. It's airy and floaty without being too sheer, hugging the body in slimmer styles and draping beautifully in others. Lighter than our midweight linen, but still strong and durable. It will only soften and improve with age, starting out with a coarser finish but with the ability to become more supple and flexible with wear. We love linen because of the natural strength and durability the fiber possesses, and because it is a very friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, is virtually lint-free, hypoallergenic, extremely comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent. This yarn-dyed gauze possesses rustic charm and variation, giving it an organic personality.

Care: Hand or machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry hot. Store folded or flat in order to avoid stretching - if stretching occurs, machine washing and drying will return to original shape. Crinkled finish is intentional, do not press. To remove fold creases or wrinkles, lightly steam or toss in the dryer with a damp towel. Avoid excessive stress on seams.

*Linen is a natural fiber and will fade and wear over time, which we love. If you prefer your garments to not show as much wear, hand wash, and do not tumble dry.

  • Sizing & Fit

Intended to have a relaxed, oversized fit. Its structured silhouette stands away from the body and hits above the knee. The same silhouette will fit differently in different fabrics - expect this to feel different than our Midweight Linen and Silk Crepe.
