Tell us a little bit about yourself: I am a child birth educator, birth doula, baby-wearing educator, writer, and homeschooling-unschooling mom of two boys. Also, I publish a mostly-mothly zine called Baby Coffee. It is about perinatal matters and all other important aspects of the human experience, such as reading, political activism, and clogs. I live in Harlem, NYC with my husband, my kids, and a lot of books and records.
What you love about ES: I love the commitment to ethical manufacturing and quality, and the commitment to showcasing and serving women of all shapes and sizes. My favorite thing, though, is the clothing itself. I love how the designs transcend the standard avant-garde/minimalist genre - they have true personality, and to my eye, have such sweet, feminine undertones, making them work for such a wide range of personal styles. Each piece can be taken in so many different directions, used in so many different contexts, and combined with such a variety of other pieces. I also really love the fabrics. As a homeschooling mom of 2, I appreciate the sturdiness and practicality; as an NYC resident and thus participant in the daily fashion show that is city life, I appreciate the luxe look and feel.
