  • Description

**We are currently sold out of our Heavyweight Wool in Fawn. We will update our website as soon as it is available again!**

The cold weather version of our beloved Clyde Vest—our favorite "third piece." Adding a layer like this to your wardrobe is such a great way to introduce functionality, versatility, and dimension. I see classic, timeless, monochrome styling with this piece, inspired by the likes of a draped layering virtuoso (think Diane Keaton). A slim, dark look paired with smart heels will take you from work to dinner in the city, and to everywhere in between.

In thick, warm wool, this piece keeps your chest and trunk insulated while leaving your arms free for easy mobility and bulk-free layering. A vest like this works supremely well over a thick sweater when the weather isn't quite cold enough for a full coat, or layered under your outerwear when temperatures are very cold without further restriction to your arms. This piece is meant to make your life easier and getting dressed simpler.

We have so many great iterations of this pocket style, including other fabrics, colors, and lengths. Shop our Clyde Outerwear Series here!

  • Material & Care

    Fabric: Heavyweight Wool

Fiber Content: 60% Climate Beneficial Wool, 40% Alpaca, domestically sourced

Description: An immeasurably soft, heavyweight, plainweave wool that holds the shape of our garments with integrity. Gorgeous visible texture and supple, rich handfeel. Not at all itchy, and super warm without excessive weight. Our wool-alpaca blend is as breathable as it is insulating. Because of its moisture wicking properties, it’s sure to keep you comfortable on a brisk winter day. Our wool is washed in house to give it a brushed, organic finish. Heathered yarn blends natural and colored fiber together for a variegated, earthy appearance.

Care: Hand wash with cold water and wool detergent. Lay flat to dry. For a sharp suiting look, press on high heat with steam and a wool clapper.

*Due to wool's short staple fibers, some pilling is to be expected in areas of high friction. Use a wool brick or sweater shaver to remove pills.

Nice piece but not for me

Wool was beautiful but overwhelmed my frame and heavy to wear. I would have tried sizing down but probably wouldn’t get enough wear due to the weight and the climate where I live.

Favorite cozy layer to wear

I love this vest! I put in on over my lounge around the house on Sunday morning things, I put it on when it's cold in the house and I want to keep my arms free...It does run way larger than the cotton canvas Clyde Vest though. I ordered my usual size in ES small and I really should have exchanged it for the xs, but didn't want to let that much time pass without having it to wear.

Like a good hug

Heavy, soft, and textured. I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do—it’s truly been the “third piece” in my winter wardrobe, both for going out and staying in in a cuddle pile on the couch. After being initially disappointed upon seeing that a true black wool wasn’t offered with in the CWC, I’m now sold on the functional genius and appeal of the variegated white fibers in with the darker wool.

Waffled between XS and S and am really happy with the S—perfect length and body for me at just under 5’4”.
