Our favorite outerwear hero, the Clyde Trench. It's classic and weird all at the same time—a combination of our essential Clyde pocket, traditional trench vibes, and a relaxed, slouchy fit. With added swing and a large shawl collar, it has a deliciously nostalgic shape while still feeling ultra-modern. Its massive pockets carry anything you need.

I see this paired with slim trousers, an oversized button-down, and oxfords on a brisk afternoon walk to the city library. Wear with the collar folded down for a sleek look or full for a structural shape. Leave open for ultimate temperature control—this can be a true trench or simply a layering piece. Wrap and belt it for a totally different silhouette and to achieve wind-blocking closure. This chameleon piece can be whatever you want it to be!

80% Upcycled Cotton, 20% LEED Certified Cotton

This mid-to-heavy weight canvas is sturdy and hardworking. Created in partnership with The New Denim Project, a third-generation mill in Guatemala that focuses on circular manufacturing. This material is created from cotton waste from regional factories and spinning mills. This discarded fiber would otherwise be considered waste, but in combination with a small amount of LEED certified virgin cotton, it can be successfully spun and woven into new fabric. 9,000 liters of water are saved per pound of upcycled material produced in comparison to using virgin cotton. Dyed with low-impact dyes and minimal water usage.

The canvas weave is one of the most durable, resisting pilling, thinning and tearing by nature. A sturdy body but soft hand and medium weight make this material perfect for year-round wear.

In comparison to our earlier cotton canvas, this is a bit lighter and much softer. Due to the fact that this material is made with upcycled yarn, there are more imperfections in the weave. These are not defects—they are a natural result of using shorter staple fibers, and a necessary result of the important waste-reducing properties of this fabrics. Small slubs, nubs, and misweaves do not impact the integrity of the garment, they just give it a bit of character and serve as a reminder of what this material stands for.

Machine washable. Wash on cold and tumble dry warm to preserve color. Press on low with steam to remove wrinkles or leave unpressed for a perfectly unfussy look. Will break in and soften significantly with wear.

Cotton is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love.

    Clyde trench in white

It’s a nice garment but the color is hard to pull off in Pittsburgh!

    Love love love

I love my Clyde trench. I wear it almost everyday to work. The cut and fabric are high quality. I look forward to the jacket softening with wear just like my Clyde pants did!

    Arms too short

This is a beautifully made trench! The canvas had a nice weight to it. I am 5'8' and about 150 pounds and the S/M fit fine everywhere but the arms -- it was SEVERAL inches too short (and not in a cute way imo). I debated returning it because I did really like it otherwise but in the end I figured I just wouldn't reach for it enough because the arms were so short on me.

    Hi Alexis!

Thank you so much for this feedback. We did extend the length of the sleeve on the newest version of this pattern (in our Indigo cotton). When we restock canvas in the future, this style will have the lengthened sleeves! I appreciate the feedback, and hope this style might work for you in the future with the update!

Wonderful coat! Runs big, I may see if I can still exchange for the smaller size
