  • Description

A classic wide belt that makes all of our cinching, silhouette-creating dreams come true, especially when paired with our outerwear. I like to think a 2019 Greta Garbo would pair a Clyde Trench in Flax Midweight Linen with this waist belt all spring long. It's substantial enough in width to really define the waist, but not so wide that it buckles when you sit down. And it's not just for jackets; this piece can take our most oversized, fluid tops and dresses and create transformative shapes. Subtle curves or dramatic changes in volume add endless options to your wardrobe.

My favorite way to wear this is in monochromatic outfits with a matching jacket or dress, but contrast is also eye-catching. Use it to close open-front jackets or to create a simple hourglass shape with a Georgia Midi.

  • Material & Care

    Fabric: Linen Gauze

    Fiber Content: 100% Linen

Description: A gorgeous lightweight linen gauze that has a wonderful texture. The crinkled finish gives the fabric an inherent stretch. It's airy and floaty without being too sheer, hugging the body in slimmer styles and draping beautifully in others. It's lighter than our midweight linen but still strong and durable. It will only soften and improve with age, starting out with a coarser finish but with the ability to become more supple and flexible with wear. We love linen because of the natural strength and durability the fiber possesses, and because it is a very friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, is virtually lint-free, hypoallergenic, extremely comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent. This yarn-dyed gauze possesses rustic charm and variation, giving it an organic personality.

Care: Hand or machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry hot. Store folded or flat in order to avoid stretching. If stretching occurs, machine wash and dry to return to its original shape. The crinkled finish is intentional, so do not press. To remove fold creases or wrinkles, lightly steam or toss in the dryer with a damp towel. Avoid excessive stress on seams.

*Linen is a natural fiber and will fade and wear over time, which we love. If you prefer your garments to not show as much wear, hand wash, and do not tumble dry.

Goes with everything!

I got this for my Artist dress, in OS2P for extra length, and it enables the Artist to become two very different garments, both lovely. It also works super well with several other garments, like my pepper linen gauze Polly and my plum Alabama Chanin Polly. Very well made!

Disappointing overall

This belt does not lay how I imagined it would. It’s a struggle to keep the tag on the inside - Because of how the tag is sewn, it’d also be hard to remove it. Most of the time it seems to be extremely wrinkled (and I don’t mind the wrinkly fabric usually!), and it rolls up/the belt rolls in on itself so it looks sort of like rope and the tag is usually visible. Frustrating and disappointing in general; I wouldn’t buy a belt again in these materials.

Easy to style

I got this in the pepper linen gauze, size OSP for a 33 waist. The length is great, and even just enough to loop twice like a mini Asawa. I love the color, it’s an intriguing, textural black/brown/grey. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the material wrinkles and folds up quite easily so the belt ends up not always laying flat. I’ll probably end up removing the tag so that it doesn’t show should the belt accidentally flip outward.
