In warm Lightweight Wool, these trousers are perfect for chilly days. Paired with the right sweater and coat, they are elegant enough for evening or workwear, or with slippers they are absolutely divine around the house. • Material & Care

    Fabric: Lightweight Wool

Fiber Content: 60% Climate Beneficial Wool, 40% Alpaca, domestically sourced

Description: A cozy, lightweight, plainweave wool. This deceptively soft wool has the luxury and handfeel of cashmere or brushed cotton and the warmth of heavy sheepswool, without the weight or itch. Our wool-alpaca blend is as breathable as it is insulating. Because of its moisture wicking properties, it’s sure to keep you comfortable on a brisk winter day. The fine yarn gauge and tight weave make this Lightweight Wool perfect for many seasons and climates. Our wool is washed in house to give it a brushed, organic finish. Heathered yarn blends natural and colored fiber together for a variegated, earthy appearance.

Care: Hand wash with cold water and wool detergent. Lay flat to dry. For a sharp suiting look, press on high heat with steam and a wool clapper.

*Due to wool's short staple fibers, some pilling is to be expected in areas of high friction. Use a wool brick or sweater shaver to remove pills.

A Modern Classic on Heavy Rotation

I love my silk Andys and I am a pushover for a wide-leg menswear-inspired winter wool trouser so I was really excited to get these. They did not disappoint. When you look at them on the hanger it is hard to tell, but the cut is a perfect, comfortable blend of classic and modern. I live in Canada so with tights, layered tops and the right height boots, they totally work here. Never mind, I just like to wear them around the house, day and night! I have sensitive skin and can be prone to eczema, but I hand-washed these when they arrived and while I can feel them and the texture on my legs (and make sure to tuck a tank top or body suit into the waistband to protect my tummy) they don't give me a rash or even make me very itchy. Re sizing: I am quite tall but because my height is in my legs (33' inseam) I often find that the ES Tall sizes are too long in the rise/torso for me, so in these I ordered the Regular and they're perfect. Can you tell I really like these trousers :)

Fancy pajama pants

These pants are a winter staple for a cold or wet climate. They are the most comfortable piece in my closet yet I can still dress them up and look nice! I would recommend these to anyone. They are an investment for the future.

Outstanding

The wool/alpaca is the showstopper here. The charcoal is an absolutely gorgeous blend which makes me feel luxurious and warm. It is incredibly soft. Knowing that it’s ethically produced is the best part. The cut and drape of these pants is perfect, classic, professional, comfortable. I really cannot say enough good things. Very satisfied.

Made for Me

I’ve been a skirt/dress person all my life because pants have tended to push and pull in ways I don’t like. All ES pants have worked for me, but these trousers special. I wear them several times a week and they stay good-looking. The only thing I’d wish for them is a handy set of side pockets.

Perfect fabric, cut a bit too short in leg

This fabric is absolutely amazing. I've never felt anything like it. I love wearing chunky sweaters in winter and now I can be head-to-toe in sweater. On sizing, I don't agree with the reviewer who said they run large. The Andy is suppose to be loose through the hip and thigh. I would definitely stick with your regular size. The waistband is much more comfortable than my Clyde's, not sure if there's a difference in the elastic or because of the wooly goodness on top. The reason I'm giving four stars is the length. I know all of ES pants are cropped but I think of cropped as skimming the ankle. I'm 5'0" and should solidly wear the Short length and these hit several inches above my ankle when standing and show almost half my shin when sitting. This cut makes them not very practical for a cold climate like NY. If they were 1-2 inches longer, they'd be perfect.

Beautiful but run big

I wear a 2 short in Clydes but sized up to a small in these for a more comfortable waistband (the Clydes hurt my sensitive stomach but fit perfectly in the hip/butt). I probably should have sized down to an XXS in these to get the right fit in the hips/legs, but these in a small were just way too much fabric for my small build. The elastic was very comfy, though, and the fabric is incredibly soft and warm, so I wish these would have worked for me!

Not great for plus sizes???

Fabric: The wool fabric used is amazing!!! Super soft and wool, I want to wrap my entire body with this wool. It's been pilling a bit at the crotch, but not too badly. I bought the fawn andys and I love the colour, it has a nice pinkish tone that I surprisingly like, considering I don't generally like pink. If I could give 5 stars just for the fabric I would.

Fit/Style: I think this style in this fabric may just not be great for plus sizes, or at least my plus size body. I have a 40" inch waist and 53" hips. My hip size places my in between a 2xl and a 3xl so I went with a 3 xl as generally ES says to size up. The 3xl was comically large and the crotch was so low. I didn't return them as: I live in canada and had already paid the duties and taxes (which are a pain to get refunded), cold weather was approaching, and I thought that I could make them work by taking them in. I've done so, but they still don't look great. the fabric is thick and this makes the elastic band waist rest funny and bunchy. I wear them more as a very expensive sweat pant alternative around my house rather than the sophisticated work wear item I was hoping for.
