Georgia Series: 4-Week Virtual Workshop, Summer 2025

$478.00

The Georgia is our best selling ready-to-wear garment of all time, and it's also our best-selling sewing pattern. In this 4-week virtual workshop, we will make it together live (you can choose the Tee, Dress, or Midi!), and you will leave with a completed garment and endless ideas for repurposing this pattern into other pieces for your wardrobe. This workshop is hosted over Zoom from my home sewing studio. Workshop size is limited to 24 participants in order to give adequate time for questions and 1-1 assistance!

What does the workshop include?
- Georgia Series digital sewing pattern
- Full-size printed pattern files
- Four classes (8 hours of live instruction via Zoom)
- Recordings of all classes to rewatch at your convenience
- 6 hours of live Sewing Circle time to work on your project with my support and guidance (optional, join at your convenience)
- One-time 20% discount on all ES fabrics

Class structure and schedule: Each class is two hours long, and I will demonstrate live exactly how to do each step, providing lots of context, tips, and alternative options. You can follow along and work on your garment in real time, or just watch and ask questions during the class and work through the steps throughout the week. You can ask questions any time–this is live so you can get help when you need it! Recordings of each class will be sent the following day in case you aren't able to join us or would like to rewatch.

Sewing Circle Hours: These are hosted live on zoom each week for those who would like some company while continuing to work on your project. I will be there for any questions or troubleshooting help you need, and this is a great time for us to work on fitting or making pattern adjustments. Join these at your convenience, they are optional!

What will the workshop cover?

I will walk you through the pattern and it's construction step-by-step with lots of close-up video, so you can see exactly what I'm doing from start to finish. We will also cover sewing pattern basics like size selection, pattern prep, and cutting, alternative methods to most of techniques and finishes, and fitting adjustments. In our final class I will walk through a bunch of fun ways to turn this pattern into totally different styles.

What skill level is this workshop suitable for?

If you can operate a sewing machine, you can do this! This pattern is a great place to start for new sewists. But it's not only for beginners–we'll also learn the construction techniques we use in manufacturing our ready to wear garments and lots of ways to level up your finishes and details. This style can be as complex as you make it!

What tools and supplies will I need?

- Sewing machine capable of straight stitch and needle suited for your fabric
- Steam iron and ironing board
- Fabric scissors
- Several yards of woven fabric, depending on the view you plan to make (see the pattern details page for specific fabric requirements)
- Machine thread
- Optional: serger, sleeve board, pins

**Digital and full size printed versions of the pattern will be provided. If you need any help selecting materials, machine needles, thread, etc prior to the workshop, I will be glad to help. You'll hear from me in advance to make sure you're all set.

Hi! I'm Liz.

When I started Elizabeth Suzann 11 years ago, I was limited to a straight stitch sewing machine, serger, and my self-taught sewing skills (the same tools most home-sewists have access to), which makes our styles *so* well suited for DIY.

After sewing many of our customers orders myself, creating over 1000 development and photoshoot samples, and drafting and grading all of our patterns, I have tons of tricks up my sleeve to make sewing easy and efficient. And I've made plenty of mistakes that I can help you avoid! I can't wait to sew with you.

Sewing your own clothing is truly transformational.

You will find so much connection with your body and personal style, and you will feel immense pride when you can wear something you made with your own two hands. And trust me, you are so capable! My approach to sewing is relaxed and open-minded. There is no mistake we can't fix, and there many ways to create a wonderful garment. We'll find what works for you and make it FUN!
