friday feels

We're back on track with our Friday check-in, and I hope you've all had some good moments this week amidst the hard.

A line I've had in my Notes app for a few weeks: "Just because someone is good at arguing doesn't mean they're right."

There's a lot I could say about why that sentiment is on my mind, but I don't have the bandwidth for a deep dive right now. I just wanted to share it at face value in case you've ever felt stuck too—unable to reason your way through someone's defenses, but knowing the truth in your bones.

production updates

The update this week is… more of the same!

Nothing flashy to report—just steady, patient progress. Every order shipped feels like a celebration, and we’re inching closer every day. Garments are getting cut, sewn pieces are coming in, little issues are getting repaired, and we’re keeping our heads down doing the work. I’m deeply grateful for the grace and patience you’ve all shown us through these slower patches. It truly makes a difference.

sewing workshops

The recorded, On-Demand Harper Tunic workshop is finally ready!!! Editing this was put on the back burner while I focused on moving production forward, but now it's done and LIVE!!!

This course is formatted just like our On-Demand Georgia workshop, with everything you need broken out into easy-to-navigate videos. I walk through the entire process of constructing the Harper and go over lots of fitting and pattern changes to customize things exactly how you'd like.

On-Demand workshop students also get access to live weekly Office Hours with me through the end of 2025, so you can get real-time help with your project whenever you need it.

Get instant access here. See you inside!

small pleasures & unlikely muses

If you've been around for a while, you'll know that an ice-cold Diet Coke is one of my eternal vices. It's the nectar of the gods, even though I know it's objectively terrible. I've been trying to drink less of it and more water, but plain water is just so... boring. This sounds nuts, but it's almost physically difficult for me to drink flat, plain water. Yeah, 😬 I know.

I've been experimenting with alternatives, and right now what's working for me is plain, unflavored sparkling water that's very cold, mixed with about half a serving of Liquid I.V. or something similar. Too much of the flavor is overbearing and juice-like, but a small amount gives that salty kick, and the carbonation helps trick my brain into thinking it's soda-ish. It's definitely an improvement, and maybe inching me closer to drinking more water like a normal human. I definitely feel more hydrated, so that's a win.

In other weird, kind of embarrassing shares, I have found myself cataloging outfits from cartoons my kids are watching. We are on a VHS-only journey to reduce screen time, and that includes a few different versions of Winnie the Pooh and one very old copy of Ferngully.

Pooh's white sleep shirt has truly captivated me. It has a subtle stand collar and a shirttail-shaped hem, and I know it's made of the softest, well-worn cotton. I must re-create this for myself, and if it's as impactful on my own wardrobe as I feel it will be, maybe it will make its way to the site at some point.

And then there's Magi Lune from Ferngully and her iconic pink layered concoction (side note: I don't know why her eyes look so scary in this screengrab, she's not a spooky character, but this is the best pic I could find of the shape of the dress).

I am obsessed with the cape-like top layer that serves as front, back, side, and sleeve all in one uninterrupted piece of material. And the tiers below—with volume that still feels sleek and smooth.

I don't know if anything will ever come of this, but I had to get it out of my head, and now you know. So... you're welcome? Or, I'm sorry?

Be well,

Liz
