Tell me about this workshop!
In this workshop you'll learn the art of fitting and sewing oversized garments—specifically the Georgia Tee and the Harper, two of our most beloved patterns.
We'll explore what "oversized" really means in garment sewing, how to choose the right size for your desired fit, and how to make intentional adjustments so your garment drapes and moves exactly the way you want it to. Oversized doesn't mean shapeless—it means considered, relaxed, and easy to wear.
This workshop is a great option if you've ever sewn a garment that felt too big, too boxy, or just not quite right and wanted to know how to fix it. We'll demystify ease, silhouette, and proportions so you can confidently sew oversized garments that feel intentional and deliberate every time.
Who is this for?
Suitable for beginner and intermediate sewists. Ideal if you've sewn at least one garment before and want to develop a better eye and understanding of fit.

How do live virtual workshops work?
This is a live, 4-week workshop hosted virtually. You'll get access to our workshop platform which has a community forum, other resources and guides, and the live video classes (it functions just like a Zoom call) along with the recordings after each class.
I teach the entire project live and you are able to ask questions and interact in real-time. The recorded classes are then available to you for life to re-watch at your convenience.

What tools/equipment do I need to have?
- A sewing machine in good working order capable of a straight stitch and ideally a zig-zag stitch

- Fabric shears
- Pins and/or pattern weights
- Seam ripper (mistakes are part of the process!)
- Iron and ironing board
What other supplies will I need?
- 3-5 yards of lightweight muslin
- 2–3 yards of lightweight to medium-weight woven fabric (linen or cottons in the 3-5oz/yd range work beautifully)
- All-purpose polyester thread—I recommend Gutermann Mara 100 for almost all projects, and it's the thread we've manufactured with for years
- Clear gridded ruler with 1/8" markings
- Several yards of pattern paper or other semi-transparent paper for altering your pattern
- Masking tape
- Tailors chalk or fabric marking pen
- Pencil/pens
- Printed copies of both the Georgia and Harper patterns (digital patterns are included with the workshop, you can print at home or order full-size printed copies prior to the workshop)
What happens next?
Immediately after you check-out, you'll receive an email with an invitation to our private Skool group. This will let you access our community platform, and this is where the workshop classes will be hosted when they occur.
Once you're logged in, you'll find a brief video that walks you through the platform, and then you can start exploring right away.
You'll get an email from me as the workshop date approaches with more information about downloading your pattern files and starting to gather your tools and supplies!
