Silk is a natural fiber and while this weave is a finer, more consistent look than some of our other fabrics, it still has occasional variations. Color will vary from dye lot to dye lot—if you need consistent color for several projects, order the yardage all at once so that we can give you one continuous cut from the same bolt.

Silk is a strong fiber, but it's still a natural material that can and will break down over time. To ensure your garment lasts as long as possible, do not use this fabric for tight or fitted garments where there will be tension or pressure on seams. Consider doubling up the material for high friction areas, and take care to wash and clean the fabric gently and often.

Machine washable. To preserve luster, wash on gentle with cold water and air dry. For a matte finish, wash on gentle cycle with warm or hot water and tumble dry on medium heat. Hems, necklines, and sleeves will wrinkle. Press with steam to shape, and they'll return to crisp edges.

For best results, prewash and steam fabric before beginning a project. Our Silk Crepe shrinks up to 6% in width and 10% in length on average.
