Details

This piece is an amalgamation of a few difference sources of inspiration. The Josephine Tunic was a piece I designed very early on - named after a favorite Wallflowers song, it was a simple, cap sleeve tunic that worked with anything. For this version, I improved the fit of the sleeves and neck, and added volume at the back with a box pleat. The deep slits were inspired by Colette, one of our very first seamstresses, and a dramatic, full-length, sheer tunic with slits she made for herself years ago. The side vents add the perfect amount of movement and drama to this piece, and allow for excellent air flow.

This is one of those things that feels so good to move in–you know the kind. A garment that gives you confidence while you walk, that has presence and drama.

Layer with matching trousers, or over a great pair of jeans. Excellent as a beach coverup, or even over shorts. The vents allow easy access to pockets, which is key. This piece is one of my favorite marriages of functionality and beautiful form.

Silk Crepe

100% Silk, GOTS and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. Washed Silk Crepe that drapes and moves like liquid.

Our silk has an ultra-soft feel with a barely-there sheen that comes alive with movement. This extremely high-quality fabric was developed in a custom, substantial weight and is meant to be worn and loved. Every silk garment is pre-washed and shrunk to your size so you can wear, love, wash, and repeat without worry (or a trip to the dry-cleaners).

Silk is a natural fiber with inherent breathability and strength. This weave has a finer, more consistent look than some of our other fabrics, but it still has occasional variations. Color will vary from dye lot to dye lot. While silk is a very strong fiber, it is still a natural material that can and will break down over time. To ensure your garment lasts as long as possible, do not wear tighter than intended and pay attention to tension or pressure on the seams.

Machine wash on gentle cycle with cold water and air dry or tumble dry on low heat. Fabric may feel stiff or crispy if you choose to air dry, simply fluffing the garment by shaking it vigorously or tossing into the dryer for a minute will soften it up. Hems, necklines, and sleeves will wrinkle with washing. Press with steam to shape, and they'll return to crisp edges. Ensure that you wash gently and regularly especially in warm climates. Washing too frequently at high temperatures can cause premature fiber breakdown, but so can oils and bacteria sitting in material for extended periods of time.

Silk is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love.
