  • Description

This is the first skirt we ever released. I feel like skirts can quickly become too feminine, and I thought that the skirt I would design would be so utterly simple that it couldn't be hard to find elsewhere. However, I realized that I myself couldn't find what I was picturing, so I worked to create the most pared down version of this garment - nothing less and nothing more than exactly what was needed. It has a midi length to show some leg but also to provide modest coverage, a generous hem to add luxe weight and body to the fabric, and just enough gathering to add fullness and movement at the hip but to not become bulky at the waist.

Wear this at home with a soft wool sweater and socks, then swap out the socks for suede heels and head to dinner. You can also pair this with an easy tee and sneakers, and throw this on in the city for a brisk walk.

  • Material & Care

    Fabric: Silk Crepe

    Fiber Content: 100% Silk

Description: A washed silk crepe de chine that drapes and moves like liquid. Has a muted, ultra-soft feel with a barely-there sheen visible only with movement. This is an extremely high quality and medium-weight crepe that was custom developed just for us - meant to be worn, not coddled. All of our silk is garment-washed, so it has a lustrous yet matte finish and is totally machine washable.

Care: Machine washable. Wash on gentle cycle with cool water. Tumble dry on medium heat. Hems, necklines, and sleeves will wrinkle. Press with steam to shape, and they'll return to crisp edges.

*Silk is a natural fiber and will fade and wear over time, which we love. If you prefer your garments to not show as much wear, hand wash and do not tumble dry.

*Garment measurements were taken flat, so double where necessary. All measurements are approximate, +/- a tolerance that is to be expected with handmade clothing.

Natalie’s waist places her in a Medium while her hips place her in a Large. To demonstrate a slimmer fit, Natalie wears a Medium in our product photos. Please note that sizing down may cause quicker wear and tear on a garment. If you too are in between sizes and intend to wear your pant regularly, then we suggest sizing up, particularly in Silk Crepe.

Versatile and lovely

This skirt is wonderful. It works in casual settings, for formalwear, in a smart office environment, and around the house. Great in the winter with a turtleneck, and I can’t wait to wear it during hot days. I think this will be a year-round workhorse for me.

The tall length is just right for me, 5’10 with disproportionately long legs. Every mid-length skirt I own hits me right at the widest part of my calf, EXCEPT this magical skirt, thank god. The hem is hefty and weighs the skirt down just enough that it falls beautifully. And it’s comfy enough to wear for hours when eating heavily.

My new GO TO skirt

I love this skirt. The weight of the fabric, how I can wear it low on hips or higher. Excellent quality for the price. Easy to clean.

But seriously, this skirt is a workhorse and can make your outfit fancy or casual. Great traveling piece as well. ALL seasons - can't say enough about this skirt.

bel Skirt, silk crepe

I love it. The skirt moves beautifully, and regardless of the context, I feel elegant. Also, it washes beautifully and required no ironing.

I will wear this skirt for years. Thank you

Simple and elegant

This skirt is perfectly proportioned for me. I have never been able to find a skirt that suits my hips and relatively smaller waist. This skirt has the right ratio of length as well as amount of fabric.

I wear this high waisted, with a silk Georgia tee and feel great. Comfortable and easy to wear but so elegant in its simplicity.

The rust colour is divine.
