  • Description

The return of one of our most popular past season items—a reimagination of the Keaton Jumpsuit from 2015. With slimmer shoulders, deeper armholes, and a lower neckline, the Clyde Jumpsuit has more of an overalls feel, and I love it best layered over a chunky sweater in winter or simple tee in summer. The deep Clyde pockets you know from our Clyde Work Pants, Jacket, and Trench are practical while also visually interesting, and the vertical topstitching lengthens the body. This jumpsuit pulls on over the hips, making it a truly no-fuss one-piece. I picture this piece getting lots of mileage in art studios, at oceanside bonfires with friends, and on long travel days.

Cut from our classic, sturdy midweight linen. A year-round fabric with weight and substance, but also lightness and movement. Natural imperfections and variation in weave give this material a rich, earthy feel.

  • Material & Care

    Fabric: Midweight Linen

    Fiber Content: 100% Linen

Description: Medium weight, sturdy broadcloth linen that can be pressed to a neat, crisp finish or left wrinkled after washing for a perfectly lived-in look. Linen possesses natural strength and durability, and it's a super friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing and is virtually lint-free, hypoallergenic, comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent.

Care: Machine washable. Wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry warm. Leave unpressed for a beautifully rumpled look (as pictured here), or press on medium heat with steam to remove wrinkles.

*Linen is a natural fiber and will fade and wear over time, which we love. If you prefer your garments to not show as much wear, hand wash, and do not tumble dry.

Magic

This is my favorite ES piece so far (and it has some stiff competition!). Since it arrived this summer, I’ve been wearing it once or twice a week to work (layered with more intricate things underneath and heeled booties), and everyday on the weekend with more casual layers (or no layer) underneath and sneakers or sandals. I have the Navy linen, the material is highest quality and will only get better with age. I am an architect and a mom to a tireless toddler — I feel like this is the perfect uniform for my life right now. The pockets alone are worth every penny; they are filled with (not necessarily at the same time): pens, pencils, crayons, half-eaten snacks, phone, notebook, lip gloss, water bottle, tape measure, miniature dog and cat, etc.) —thank you, ES, for your commitment to quality and effortless style!

everything I hoped!

I hemmed and hawed over this for a while before making the purchase (it's more than I typically spend on a single article of clothing), and I'm so happy with it. The fabric is gorgeous and high-quality, the navy color is beautiful, and I'm so comfortable in it. I read a lot of reviews and looked at pictures trying to decide whether to get a S or M (I'm very hourglass-shaped, with a large chest) and the S is, if anything, a tiny bit oversized (in a cute way) after wear and before its first washing. My only caveat is that it's hard to pull bulkier under-pieces down flat; they usually bunch up in the back. Other than that, I'm saving up for one in cotton canvas!

Love! Sizing down

I am 5'9 and 140lbs and pretty long/lean in general, but not skinny. This jumpsuit is amazing and so comfy, but unfortunately the size I chose (Medium Tall) really doesn't work. The small talk should be perfect. I feel like the sizing is general pretty big. Oh and I love the Navy color. It's a deep, rich shade & the fabric is super comfy. Can't wait for this exchange!

I love this jumpsuit!

I have the navy Clyde jumpsuit in a medium and I'm obsessed with it. I wear it with a white T-shirt underneath, a cardigan, and a pair of medium-heel No. 6 Store clog boots, and I'm excited to wear it in the summer with clogs and sandals. I did have to take it to the tailor to get the straps shortened by a tiny bit but I have narrow shoulders and straps always fall down, so that was not unanticipated.

Almost wonderful!

I purchased this in the navy linen and was so impressed with the quality of the fabric and the rich navy color. I love jumpsuits and was really hoping for this to work. It was incredibly comfortable and easy to wear. Unfortunately, though, I found it to hug a bit too close to my lower legs, while being more voluminous around the hips and thighs, which was not a super flattering look on me. The inseam also fell at a slightly awkward length -- probably would have ordered the regular length if I were to order again. I returned this and ordered the Mara instead, which I LOVE, love, love, so all's well that ends well! : )

Practical and comfortable, but baggy.

I SO wanted to absolutely love this piece as much as other people do. And I do like it quite a bit, it gets a lot of wear, it's just not quite what I was hoping for. First off, the things I love about it :)

This fabric is heaven. It wears really well, feels glorious in the hand, stretches but holds its shape, and dirt just brushes right off! I got it in the navy, which is quite dark, and kindof wish there was a medium color available in this linen. The dark color hides a lot of the construction details, and they're so gorgeous I want to show them off! I love the seams down the front and the way the pockets are cut to stand away from the body. The piece itself is quite comfortable: it's become my go-to piece for long road trips or when I get home from work and want a transition outfit before pajamas. It's also quite hard-wearing and practical: good for climbing around, building something (the pockets hold a hammer really well!), or whatever else you do where you want ease and sturdiness in your clothes. Oh, and those pockets, man! I can fit my water bottle AND coffee mug in ONE. I even tried fitting my mom's dog in one and he fit. As a pocket lover, I'm obsessed.

All that being said, I guess I was hoping it would read a little... sexier. I find this piece to run big, and it is especially baggier around the thighs and the waist than I like. I do have a fairly hourglass-like silhouette and carry very little of my weight in my legs, so this is not an uncommon fit issue for me,…

Gen 4 navy linen

It took a few tries for me to get the size and fit for this garment right--I wanted it to be more fitted because I don't plan wear a layer underneath the jumpsuit. Having tried both Gen 3 and Gen 4 sizing in this jumpsuit, I would say I had to size down for the Gen 4 collection--from a M-short in Gen 3 to a XS-short in Gen 4 (I tried a S-short in Gen 4 but it was still too big, even if I wanted to layer underneath). I probably should have gone with a "regular" instead of the "short" and rolled the pant legs up for a more cropped fit because the short feels a little "short" in the torso and around the legs when I sit. But the linen does offer some give and stretch, and I don't want to reorder another size because I love this jumpsuit and am eager to finally wear it!

Also, the linen is a lovely weight, and the rich navy-almost-black color is perfect.

Stylish Utilitarianism

This was my first ever jumpsuit purchase and after wearing it for two seconds I couldn't believe I had gone so long without one. I have this is the navy linen in XS and purchased it before the extended sizing release. If re-ordering I would go with the XXS for a more fitted look since I don't love the slight sagging that happens in the back after a bit of wear. That is half to do with the nature of linen and half to do with my not having a lot in the rear, so might not be an issue with everyone. Still, I have worn this by itself, belted, as a cover up at the beach, on long days of plane travel, with a cropped sweater on colder days and currently it is still fitting my 2nd trimester belly, which might be my favorite look. I found that trying to layer a top underneath feels too fussy for me since the shirt rides up over time and is pretty hard to pull down without getting undressed. Speaking of which, I know people hesitate to wear jumpsuits because it is harder to get off in certain bathroom situations. It is harder, but that means it takes about 10 seconds rather than 2. So not a deal breaker for me for an otherwise practical and stylish piece.
