there’s something so handy about a coat like this in the summer - you can just toss it on and it instantly pulls together an outfit that might otherwise be a hair too casual or too formal. I’d been looking for a replacement for a very well-worn denim duster I got at Zara years ago, and I figured it was finally time to take the plunge and buy this sustainable, ethical alternative, and in a more grownup color (black). It’s pretty perfect, to be honest. I mean, it’s a LOT of fabric, and I do sort of wish the body was cut just slightly slimmer, but it works. The fabric and workmanship is beautiful, and those pockets are worth the slight poof at the hips. I dinged a star off the rating, though, because the sleeves and collar are so dang short! I’m 5’10 and pretty slim, so I ordered the XS. The body is very roomy still, and could probably fit up to a M, but the sleeves are at my elbows and the collar feels like it should have an extra inch or two on to it to really get that shawl feeling. I’m getting the sleeves taken out (thank you, hem allowance), but I do wish the smaller sizes of this jacket were cut to accommodate tall people as well as shorter ones. You can always take things in, but there’s a limit to letting them out!
