Seriously, besides the incredibly durable make and gorgeous and flattering design, this company has helped me totally rethink my purchasing patterns and my closet philosophy. I now think about the products I buy as investments and am committed to slow, ethical fashion - and that's largely due to the mission of Elizabeth Suzann's studio. I am forever grateful to these women and men for truly changing my outlook on fashion and showing me how to embrace the journey.
Re: Sizing - These pants fit true to size if you follow their measuring guide. I don't usually order my pants Long, but because I'm curvy in the hips, I found the Long was more comfortable than the Regular. I also live somewhere very cold, so I prefer the extra length at the bottom. They are easy enough to roll up if I want to show off my socks/ankles!
Also, a note on ES customer services - it is outstanding. I originally ordered an incorrect colour in the Clyde Jumpsuit and wasn't completely sure I had the right sizing in the Clyde Work Pant. My emails were replied to promptly, and the team was patient and incredibly helpful with my long list of questions and complicated shipping requests! Great customer service really goes a long way - thank you for the excellent online shopping experience.
I am only 5'6", but I ordered these in the tall size because I wanted to be able to wear them as full-length pants in the winter. I maybe could have gone with the regular size because I always cuff them once or twice — in order to wear them with ankle boots, I need to cuff them twice so that they hit right above the boots. I'm happy cuffing them, though, because they cuff very cleanly and do not look sloppy. I was worried the tall size would have too high of a rise and cause the "pooching" at the lower belly that several other reviewers mention, but this has not been an issue for me. I am very high-waisted and am happy to finally have pants that come up to my true waist! Originally I ordered these in a size 4 because many people seemed to recommend sizing down. I am about a 4–6 in most brands and am used to brands generally running large (i.e., having size charts that tell you to get a bigger size than you actually need). The size 4 was definitely too small for me: nearly impossible to get over my hips, and once on they pulled at the hips and calves, creating unflattering shadows. If you have a large hip-to-waist ratio like I do, I would not recommend sizing down. The size 6 is the right size for me, but if I had not tried the 4 I might have thought the 6 was too big — there's space at the hips and thighs, and while the waistband doesn't slip down, it's not snug. It took me a minute to adjust to wearing looser pants, but now I love the looseness: it makes the pants comfortable, avant-garde and powerful.
