Midweight Linen

Fiber: 100% Linen

About This Fabric: Medium weight, sturdy broadcloth that can be pressed to a neat, crisp finish or left wrinkled after washing for a perfectly lived-in look. Linen possesses natural strength and durability, and it's a super friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, and is hypoallergenic, comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent.

Beneath the Surface: Linen is a natural fiber made from cellulose fiber inside the stalks of the flax plant. It is a complete product of nature, and can vary drastically in color and texture based on the growing conditions of the season. Variations in base color and texture are not uncommon.

Care: Wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry warm. Leave unpressed for a beautifully rumpled look or press on medium heat with steam to remove wrinkles.

What to Expect: Linen is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love. Natural imperfections in weave are also to be expected and embraced--slubs, nubs, and occasional bits of organic matter are common in linen. If you are looking for the homogeny and perfection of a synthetic fiber or a finely woven cotton you will not find it in linen.

Clyde Work Pant in Midweight Linen

The Clyde's deep, open pockets are cut a little wider than the pant leg giving plenty of room to hold a myriad of important things like your cell phone, car keys, pens, snacks, small animals... The center front and back seams replace the side seam on the leg, giving a long look and allowing the crescent moon shaped pocket to span from front to back.

In our Midweight Linen, these are relaxed and luxurious. They truly feel like pants you can do anything in. Try them for hosting an elegant party (sleek Ink with a washed black silk top, done and done), and the next day, you can tackle a home renovation project (I definitely store nails in my Clyde pockets, but do so at your own risk).

NOT THE SAME QUALITY

There seem to be a sewing defection. The way the waist line is sewed caused the crotch area to bunch up. I purchased a lot of ES prior to the pandemic. My current purchase with 3 items are less than satisfactory. Hopefully ES returns to the high quality that I always known it was.

Beautiful fabric. Fit did not work at all for me… Uncomfortable waist band, too tight. Hip and upper leg way too big. I am 5’5 115lbs, ordered a size small, had to return. Costly return options - no refund on original shipping plus return shipping deducted from refund. Unfortunately, probably won’t take the chance on trying any other items because of this. Would still recommend though because the fabric was lovely and item was well made.

great design and quality

My measurements fell right on the cusp between a small and medium. I own a pair of older Clydes in size 6 (purchased secondhand), so I thought a small in this style might be too snug. I purchased a medium and while they are a bit big, I'll wear them when I need something roomier. The quality is amazing. I have come to really love this brand and its overall mission.
