Midweight Linen

Fiber: 100% Linen

About This Fabric: Medium weight, sturdy broadcloth that can be pressed to a neat, crisp finish or left wrinkled after washing for a perfectly lived-in look. Linen possesses natural strength and durability, and it's a super friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, and is hypoallergenic, comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent.

Beneath the Surface: Linen is a natural fiber made from cellulose fiber inside the stalks of the flax plant. It is a complete product of nature, and can vary drastically in color and texture based on the growing conditions of the season. Variations in base color and texture are not uncommon.

Care: Wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry warm. Leave unpressed for a beautifully rumpled look or press on medium heat with steam to remove wrinkles.

What to Expect: Linen is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love. Natural imperfections in weave are also to be expected and embraced--slubs, nubs, and occasional bits of organic matter are common in linen. If you are looking for the homogeny and perfection of a synthetic fiber or a finely woven cotton you will not find it in linen.

A lesser-known but beloved member of the Clyde family–the "Wyde Clydes": a wide leg version of our classic Clyde Work Pant. They have our signature, ultra-functional, crescent-shaped side pocket and a fairly straight cut through the leg. The perfect alternative to our Florence if you love the wide leg but need heftier pockets. I really love how dramatic the silhouette is on these; the cinched in waist contrasts sharply with the hip pockets and full leg.

I love the cropped leg with a mid-calf boot for the fall and heeled sandals when it's warmer out. These are going to be my new studio pants; the comfortable waistband makes them perfect for hours at the computer or impromptu meetings on the floor, the pockets are great for stashing stuff, and the roomy leg is ideal for dashing around town.
