Guía de tallas: XXS-5X

In general, our garments are intended to fit slightly oversized, and most of our styles are very relaxed. This is a design choice as well as an inclusivity decision--relaxed fits accommodate more bodies, larger bodies, and fluctuating body sizes more easily than tighter fitting, tailored styles. Despite the ease of our looser styles, it is still expected that garments will look and fit differently on different body types.

We conduct extensive fit testing to obtain to most consistent silhouette across various bodies, but humans are incredibly diverse and that's a beautiful thing! In addition to the physical fit differences across body types, everyone has unique fit preferences. Not every style may work for you, or you may want to make minor alterations or adjustments to get the fit just right.

The two charts below will help you select your ES sizes based on your body measurements.

Our 6-Size Chart

Tops, Dresses & Outerwear

Our 6-Size Chart is used for our roomier, more relaxed fitting garments including Tops and Dresses. They are the most flexible in terms of size and that can be worn a variety of ways. Size up or down from the recommended size based on your measurements to achieve your desired look. Our 6-Size garments also have the most variation in fit across bodies - they fit a bit differently on everybody, and we love that!

Our 11-Size Chart

Bottoms & Jumpsuits

Our 11-Size Chart is used for our slightly more fitted styles like our pants, skirts, and jumpsuits that have a comfortable but not oversized fit, although, this sizing is still fairly flexible.

Many folks can wear two different sizes comfortably. Order true to size for the fit closest to the one pictured in our product photos, and size up or down to achieve your desired look.

Taking your body measurements

Three key points...

1. Measure around the fullest part of your bust wearing a good bra (if you normally wear one).

2. Measure around the narrowest part of your waist. This should be right around your belly button.

3. Measure around the fullest part of your hips. You want the largest measurement whether that’s your seat or thighs.

Tip: You should do this with only undergarments on. Pull the tape snug - probably snugger than feels normal!

How does the current sizing compare to your One Size (OS) sizing from years prior?

The 6-Size Chart is an updated version of our "OS" sizing convention. ("OS" stood for "One Size", and while we expanded on that with "OS Plus" and "OS Minus" options, we decided it was best to move away from "One Size" terminology altogether, as it is inaccurate and can be exclusive). Your old "OS" sizes correspond directly with this new chart, with "OS Minus" = XXS/XS, "OS" = S/M, etc.

Where can I find the old size chart for reference?

Right here!

What if my measurements put me in two different sizes?

Many customers can wear multiple sizes to achieve different fits.

First, if you fall between sizes, let the most relevant measurements guide your choice. For example, the hip measurement is the most important factor in selecting a pant size, so I’d recommend prioritizing your hip measurement. If your hips place you in a larger size than your waist, I'd size up to ensure you’re able to pull the pant on over your hips. If your hips place you in a smaller size than your waist, you're probably safe to size down since our elastic waistbands will stretch to accommodate your waist.

If you prefer a slimmer fit overall, sizing down in most garments is safe with the exception of our silk crepe items. Adding tension to the seams on silk can lead to premature wear, and we don’t recommend it - especially in bottoms. Sizing down in canvas is pretty safe! If you prefer a roomier fit, you are always welcome to size up.

Should I size up or down in different fabrics?

Many customers like to size up in silk because it has such beautiful drape and movement; for example, I love to wear my Florence Pant in Silk Crepe a size larger than normal for a palazzo-effect. Sizing up in linen works as well, but the canvas can feel a bit bulky, so keep that in mind. When in doubt, feel free to email us for more help!

Should my size be the same across brands?

Your ES size may be different than it is in other brands - that is totally normal!

Garment Measurements

What are Garment Measurements?

We have garment measurements listed on each product page for our newly released or re-stocked styles, and they'll be added with each launch. These measurements refer to the garment itself, and they will be different than your body measurements (i.e. most of our garments have quite a bit of ease, so the garment measurements will often be larger than your body, and elastic waists may be smaller than your waist measurement because they stretch). All measurements are taken flat, so you’ll need to double them when necessary.

Are Garment Measurements 100% exact?

All measurements are approximate and will vary slightly due to the handmade nature of clothing and differences in the measuring process. Each restock and different fabrics/colors may measure slightly differently. The best way to use garment measurements is to compare them to items you already own and love!

If you review this page and still have questions about sizing and fit, please send us an email! For the quickest reply, include your body measurements in the email (for bonus points, add a photo!), so we can give you the most accurate advice.
