A note on price...
If you've been a long-term customer, you'll notice that the prices for our silk garments are higher than they've been in the past. The cost of our custom-milled, 23mm washable silk-crepe has gone from $22/per yard in 2019 to $32/per yard this year. Labor costs in the US have also risen significantly with the cost of living, and we pay a premium for high-quality, responsible construction of our garments.
These six styles use an average of 2 yards of fabric each, and with other trim and notion costs, they run an average of $72 per garment in material cost alone! With labor and transport costs added in, the cost to make each garment averages $107. This is strictly for production and doesn't include our development costs (like design, grading, fitting), selling costs (like photoshoots, marketing, running our website), or operating costs (like software, equipment, and our small team's salaries).
Traditional retail marks up the cost of production by 4X *minimum* to cover those operating expenses and earn a profit. We are a small operation, and are trying to remain lean and provide as much accessibility as we can for our products while still maintaining sustainable margins for our business, so we've priced these garments with an approximate 3X markup.
Still, I know these are expensive clothes! That's just a fact. I also know that the quality is absolutely top-notch, and I haven't found another ready-to-wear brand out there selling silk of this weight and caliber. Even much larger brands (that still produce great products) like Eileen Fisher sell their silk garments for similar prices, but use lighter weight fabric and don't manufacture in the US. I fully believe in the value of what we make, and I know that when you see and feel these truly poetic garments in person, you will too. We always have our resale marketplace and sample sale opportunities for snagging a deal, and we have more patterns and a silk fabric by the yard restock coming this fall, so we can support you making your own silk garments if that suits your fancy.

Georgia Tee in Washable Silk
Our favorite, essential tee. The Georgia is one of the first styles I designed, and the pattern was drafted with adaptive fit in mind. The shoulder seam and sleeve without an armscye look intentional on all shoulder breadths, the substantial cuff wings out and draws clean lines on any arm, and the cropped length follows the rule of thirds, creating proportions that work on almost everybody.
I was thinking about effortless caftans from the '60s and '70s crossed with the neat, crisp blouses from the '40s when women started wearing separates to work. The architectural drama and movement of a draped oversized top paired with the structure and simplicity of a cropped blouse: the Georgia Tee. Its boxy silhouette has a modern, utilitarian feeling while remaining soft and fluid. The simple, slightly cropped, easy cut can be paired with just about anything. Plus, it looks excellent half-tucked.

Georgia Snap Top in Washable Silk
A mashup of two of our most well-loved, classic styles. The timeless simplicity of the Georgia meets the contemporary utility of the Kara Snap Top. Our iconic, boxy Georgia silhouette feels architectural while maintaining a soft, fluid feel. Designed with adaptive fit in mind, the shoulder seam and sleeve easily accommodate various shoulder breadths, and the substantial cuff flatters any arm shape. Medium-duty snaps are inside the placket, so they're invisible. Easy and accessible to open, sturdy enough to not pull apart on accident.
Thigh-skimming tunic length is excellent over pants, creates a duster-like feel when worn open as a layer, and we think would make an excellent luxury sleep top.

Georgia Midi in Washable Silk
This is the midi version of our Georgia Tee, which was influenced by effortless caftans from the '60s and '70s but with less material and more practicality in mind. I also drew on neat, crisp blouses from the '40s when women started wearing separates to work. Architectural drama and movement paired with structure and simplicity - a dress that can go anywhere and do just about anything. It hits mid-calf, and the hem is slightly longer in the back than in the front. This dress is meant for road trips along the coast, layered over flowing trousers for balmy evening dining all'aperto, and paired with bare feet for lazy afternoons indoors with a good book.

Florence Pant in Washable Silk
This signature ES style has evolved from our very first collection in 2013 with its high rise, wide leg, generous hem, and flat elastic waist. The silhouette is classic 1920s—inspired by the elegant, put-together-but still-a-little-sexy-and-quirky beach pajamas of the time. Shows a bit of ankle and has wonderful drape and movement. The clean, no-fuss cut strikes the perfect balance of statement and simplicity and looks just as good with a silk tank and heels as with a cozy sweater and sneakers.

Andy Trouser in Washable Silk
A masculine trouser that evokes just the right amount of 90s business-suit drama but is tapered and balanced enough to feel modern. Elegant high waist, gorgeous front pleats for drama, and sleek back darts for shape. In dreamy Washable Silk, these feel like the ultimate luxury. I love this pant paired with a matching jacket and a sleek turtleneck underneath or layered under a long dress with shiny loafers.

Bel Skirt in Washable Silk
The skirt that's so simple it's brilliant. I sometimes find skirts too fussy for my taste, so I created the most pared-down version of this garment–nothing less and nothing more than exactly what was needed. It has enough length to show some leg but also provides modest coverage, a generous hem to add luxe weight and body to the fabric, and just enough gathering to add fullness and movement at the hip but not become bulky at the waist.
Wear this at home in the fall with a soft wool sweater and socks (my fave). Swap the socks for heels and head to dinner! In the summer, this is a go-to with a cropped tank and sneakers or sandals.
