Good News to Know
  • Made with 100% natural fibers–they’re renewable, feel exquisite to wear, and biodegrade at the end of their life. We garment wash all of our clothing, so your order arrives pre-shrunk and wonderfully softened.
  • Every garment is hand cut and sewn by Sew Co., a Living Wage Certified, low-waste facility located in Asheville, North Carolina’s River Arts District.

Our favorite, essential tee. The Georgia is one of the first styles I designed, and the pattern was drafted with adaptive fit in mind. The shoulder seam and sleeve without an armscye look intentional on all shoulder breadths, the substantial cuff wings out and draws clean lines on any arm, and the cropped length follows the rule of thirds, creating proportions that work on almost everybody.

I was thinking about effortless caftans from the '60s and '70s crossed with the neat, crisp blouses from the '40s when women started wearing separates to work. The architectural drama and movement of a draped oversized top paired with the structure and simplicity of a cropped blouse: the Georgia Tee.

Its boxy silhouette has a modern, utilitarian feeling while remaining soft and fluid. The simple, slightly cropped, easy cut can be paired with just about anything. Plus, it looks excellent half-tucked.

Love this style, but looking for more colors? It comes in other options, and they're on sale!

100% Linen, Oeko-Tex certified. Medium weight, sturdy broadcloth that can be pressed to a neat, crisp finish or left wrinkled after washing for a perfectly lived-in look. Linen possesses natural strength and durability, and it's a super friendly fiber on the environment. It requires very little processing, and is hypoallergenic, comfortable in all seasons, insulating, and absorbent.

Linen is a natural fiber made from cellulose fiber inside the stalks of the flax plant. It is a complete product of nature, and can vary drastically in color and texture based on the growing conditions of the season. Variations in base color and texture are not uncommon.

Natural imperfections in weave are also to be expected and embraced--slubs, nubs, and occasional bits of organic matter are common in linen. If you are looking for the homogeny and perfection of a synthetic fiber or a finely woven cotton you will not find it in linen.

Wash on gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry warm. Leave unpressed for a beautifully rumpled look or press on medium heat with steam to remove wrinkles.

Linen is a natural fiber and is expected to wear and fade over time, which we love.

Shop all Midweight Linen.

Flax A neutral to end all neutrals. Our Flax Linen is the undyed, natural color of the fiber. The color can vary from the palest beach sand to uncooked oatmeal with flecks of warm spices to a taupe putty with grey undertones. We challenge you to find a pairing color Flax linen doesn’t bring out the best in.

Black With the natural variations in the weave of true linen, our Black is anything but basic. Unworn, this forever shade holds the saturation of soot and tar. If you wash and tumble dry, over time you’ll see a bit more fading around the seams, giving a lived-in, favorite tee look.

Olive Like a drizzle of the nicest bottle of olive oil in your pantry, this shade of our Midweight Linen is a Mediterranean-inspired pop of earth. Wash and dry it for years and it will still retain the most beautiful lichen-esque hue. Pairs effortlessly with neutrals like our Flax Midweight Linen.

Navy Possibly the cooler little sister to Black, our Navy Midweight Linen is a color of substance. It can read almost black in a certain light, but its true essence is an inky midnight blue. It fades over time, wash, and wear like your favorite dark denim, which makes us love it all the more.

Terra This savory shade of Midweight Linen is spicy chili oil in fabric form. The bold hue remind us of the magical red clay of Oaxaca, Mexico, but there's also a nod to the slightly softer orange shades of mimolette cheese or cantaloupe. For a balanced look, we often pair our Flax Midweight Linen with Terra, but a monochromatic Terra top and bottom is our idea of a modern power suit.

Ivory Our not-too-white white Midweight Linen. A shade of white that won't blind you, nor does it get dingy looking after wear or wash. The undertones are very subtle and warm, akin to white rice. Our Ivory reads as crisp and clean, especially with a quick press of the iron. Slightly transparent, we prefer tops and dresses in Ivory.

The 6th Edition Georgia Tee has the same fit and sizing as the previous edition. We've updated it with a center back seam.

Intended to have an oversized, relaxed fit. Feel free to size down if you'd like a slimmer fit.

Here's how the current sizes compare to our older OS sizing:

OSM = XXS/XS OS = S/M OSP = L/XL OSP2 = 1X/2X OSP3 = 3X/4X

Georgia Tee Highlights

1. A double-layered cuff sleeve offers a silhouette-elevating structure. We’ve topstitched the cuff seam for durability and sleek, flat seams. The vertical line of the sleeve cuff is flattering on all arms.

2. The straight hem and architectural, boxy silhouette offer a modern, utilitarian vibe.

3. The expertly stitched bias-faced scoop neckline offers balancing softness.

4. In this 6th Edition of Signature colors, we’ve added a center-back seam. Learn about the new seam here.

    Perfection!

I love this tee--it's exactly what I was hoping for! It's the little design details that make it perfect: the slight crop, the way it's boxy (but not too boxy) and the winged sleeves that are interesting and flattering. The linen is also substantial and soft and comfortable. This is my new basic tee that I can wear with pretty much anything.

Love your clothes, the most recent size changes don’t work great for me

I have many iterations of the Georgia tee (and other ES pieces) and love them. This shirt is great, however the current size iterations (s/m l/xl) just don’t fit me as well as the older sizing did. OS shirts fit me great. The current sizing leaves me out. S/m is too small and l/xl is too big. I’ve stuck with l/xl in this but it just is not as flattering as my previous version Georgia tees. The same thing has happened with the current pant sizes. L is too small and xl is too big. As a result I am wearing l/xl and xl and just look kind of schlumpy, which is something ES clothes have avoided in the past. I am 5’3, 180 lbs, and a 36DD.

    Simple and beautiful

I’m a fan of Elizabeth Suzann pants (Florence and Andy styles) but it took me a while to order the Georgia Tee and it doesn’t disappoint. The fabric is so luxurious and and the garment is so beautifully made. The architectural wing sleeves add a little something unique to the simple tee. I wish it will be available in navy soon.

    Love it!

I just purchased the flax and this is my third Georgia tee. I also have it in white and black and love those! The flax is a great neutral that goes with everything. And the new back seam is a great improvement - it adds an elevated detail, and saves fabric in production.

Love the color and weight of this linen! I have an earlier version in OSP and the sleeves / arm holes on the new one do seem bigger, more space than I need, but the cut and drape same. This shirt is so easy to wear and looks a million times better than a tshirt.
