The Clyde Jumpsuit is a great all-purpose jumpsuit with large, crescent-shaped pockets spanning the side of the jumpsuit leg. Unique, three-panel design results in vertical seams along the center front and back of each leg in addition to the inseam, allowing for limitless fit adjustments and style changes. Use this classic, building-block jumpsuit as a jumping-off point for a variety of wardrobe staples that will serve you well for years.

Large pockets are the iconic feature of the Clyde. I created the side panel crescent pocket as a solution for bulky and crinkly pocket bags that are often a hallmark of inseam pockets. They are large enough to be truly functional and are just a hair wider than the side body panel for ease of use.

Medium-width shoulder straps and a scooped neckline make this jumpsuit perfectly suitable to wear on its own, or over a thin top or sweater like overalls. In a soft linen, this jumpsuit feels seasonless and relaxed. In a heavier canvas or wool, it's indestructible.

Intermediate difficulty. Suitable for patient beginners. This pattern requires understitchingtopstitching, and the insertion of bias bindings. Choose from US Sizes XXS-4XL and three length options with varying torso and inseam measurements.

This pattern has 14 pattern pieces in total, and can be completed in about four hours including cutting time.

We recommend medium-weight fabrics with no stretch. Linen, cotton, hemp, in plainweaves or canvas will work well. Lighter weight fabrics will add more drape, and heavier fabrics will result in a more structured garment. Ensure that whatever material you choose can hold up in the pocket area.

You'll need: -Fabric of your choice--see detailed fabric requirements here -All purpose polyester thread -Sewing machine (capable of a straight stitch) -Needle

This pattern is offered in our entire size range of XXS-4XL and three length options (Short, Regular, and Tall).

    Absolute delight to sew

I make my clothes from recycled’ fabrics, currently old linen tablecloths, usually I sew on my singer treadle 1933 machine but inexplicably the bobbin case has gone missing!

So I am now slow stitching (byhand) my delightful clyde jumpsuit- and even stitching it by hand is so simple, goes together like a jigsaw piece and the instructions simple and mostly clear.

    Mostly happy with this purchase

I'd been wanting to try this pattern for awhile, but the high price led me to wait until I was very certain I wanted to make this investment. I'm still in the process of making the jumpsuit, and while there's many pros, there's also a few strong cons.

Pros: really like the different seam allowances, especially around the neckline; appreciate the guidance about where to top stitch and where to finish seams; like that the directions are very thorough; quick start guide is a nice bonus, if you've made this once or twice and just need reminders rather than hand-holding.

Cons: It seems like some of the pattern pieces don't align properly? I was sewing the pocket bag to the side inset piece (may have some of these names a bit wrong), and there was about 3/8" difference between the width of the side seamlines. I didn't want to cut this off to true them, as it would make the hip area about an inch smaller overall once I sewed up the entire garment, but it was too much of a discrepancy to ignore. I ended up cutting off the extra and sewing with a smaller seam allowance through the hip (3/8" rather than the 1/2" specified) to keep some of the hip width. I also found that the front jumpsuit seamline was about 3/4" longer than the side seamline, so I had to ease it in to make everything fit. It would also have been nice for the notches on the side panel to align with the top of the pocket rather than 1/2" above- a small thing, but something other indie pattern companies would have…

Not the same old designs, but stylish and comfortable.

Thanks for making this available as a sewing pattern.
